July 2: Orioles 7, White Sox 6

Five questions about this game:

1.  Why on Earth would Mark Buehrle consider staying in Chicago at a reduced rate?

2.  With the way the bullpen keeps denying him wins, shouldn't he be asking for more than market value?

3.  Is there an official record for most hanging sliders in one game?

4.  If so, did Ryan Bukvich and Bobby Jenks break it?

5.  If you bet $2.00 that Erik Bedard's outing would feature a higher total of runs allowed than innings pitched, what would the return be?

Record:  35-44 | Box score | Play-by-play

Question #6: Where has Jenks' fastball gone? I was lamenting the fact that he wasn't on the mound in the 8th, but stopped caring when nothing he threw in the 9th broke 90. Aside from hanging garbage, he used to have some overpowering stuff. What happened?

I thought I saw him hit 95 with his fastball, but he was throwing a lot of cutters and sliders. This game last July might've been the reason:

In it, the Orioles racked up three straight hits off his fastball in the ninth inning. Jenks then switched to almost entirely off-speed stuff, and retired the next three hitters for the save.
