Thursday's minor-league roundup

The good news:  With Ken Griffey Jr. joining Jose Canseco and Steve Sax as temporary members of the White Sox, they now have claimed one-third of Mr. Burns' softball team.

Minor league roundup:
  • Charlotte 6, Louisville 3
    • Jason Bourgeois went 3-for-4 with a double and a walk.
    • Chris Getz, Jerry Owens, Royce Huffman, Cole Armstrong and Javier Colina each had two hits.
    • Getz and Brad Eldred each drove in two.
    • Tomo Ohka struck out nine over six innings of one-run ball.
    • Jason Childers closed it out with 2 2/3 scoreless innings, striking out four.
  • Potomac 8, Winston-Salem 7 (12 innings)
    • Michael Dubee struck out six over four innings of one-run ball in relief of an ineffective Anthony Carter.
    • Ricky Brooks threw two scoreless frames, striking out four.
    • Joe Persischina went 3-for-4 with a homer and two RBI.
    • Estee Harris hit a solo homer; Salvador Sanchez had a pair of doubles.
  • Kannapolis 6, Delmarva 5 (13 innings)
    • Adam Bowling (2 1/3), Tyson Corley (2), Leroy Hunt (2) and Hector Santiago (3) held Delmarva scoreless from the fourth inning on.
    • Christian Marrero led the way with three hits.
    • Mark Fleisher hit a solo homer, and Matt Inouye and Sergio Miranda joined him with two hits.
  • Helena 4, Great Falls 3
    • Kent Gerst went 2-for-5 with two RBI.
    • Daniel Hudson pitched well in defeat, allowing two runs on five hits over six innings, striking out eight.
    • Lyndon Estill and Michael Grace also had two-hit games.
  • Birmingham vs. West Tenn PPD
