Did you know: Sox Machine is now on the MySpace?  It's true -- and it's not posing as a 15-year-old girl, either.

Minor league round-up:
  • Durham 2, Charlotte 1
    • Charlie Haeger pitched well in the season finale, striking out nine over seven innings, only allowing one earned run on a solo homer.
    • Carlos Vazquez and David Aardsma pitched a perfect inning apiece.
    • Earl Snyder's solo homer provided the Knights' only run; Alex Sanchez had a two-hit game once again.
  • Birmingham 6, Huntsville 2
    • Jack Egbert finished the season in fine fashion, allowing only one run on five hits over six innings.  He struck out three and didn't walk anybody.
    • Oneli Perez closed it out with a perfect inning, striking out two.
    • Chris Getz went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer.
    • Chris Kelly went 3-for-3, and Cory Aldridge went 2-for-4 with a double.
  • Frederick 2, Winston-Salem 0
    • Gary Bakker was stuck with the loss even though he only allowed one unearned run over seven innings. He struck out five, allowed five hits and walked one.
    • Daron Roberts went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases.
  • Kannapolis 10, Augusta 4
    • Sergio Miranda led the way with three hits and two RBI out of the leadoff spot.  Archie Gilbert, Mike Grace, and John Anderson also had three-hit days.
    • Grace drove in three runs, and Michael Rocco and Gilbert had two RBI as well.
    • Michael Dubee allowed eight hits and two walks over five innings, but only three runs came in (two earned).
    • Ryan Rote struck out four over the last two innings of Kanny's season.

The AL Central Trail: July

It's a busy season at work, so I probably won't get to finish August until Labor Day.  Until then, here's July.  I'd originally intended to combine them, but two separate entries seemed to be more easily digestable.

The AL Central Trail: May

Because the events of the last few days have been so damn depressing, I figured I'd release this a day early.  The next one will come out during the All-Star break, barring unforeseen delays.

If the above makes no sense to you, this best explains it.  Mouse over the top of the box to set the slideshow's speed, or to click manually through it.

I'll be spending today keeping my fingers crossed that Extra Innings will remain on digital cable.  The deadline has been extended an extra day, and the wait is killing me.  Please, no April Fool's jokes with the latter topic.

Happy Opening Day.
